Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ondate ("Ondate", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use the Ondate mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using Ondate, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Ondate operates the Service. For any privacy question or request, contact us at ondateme@gmail.com. Where required by law, we act as the data controller for the personal data described in this Policy.
2. Information we collect
a) Information you provide
- Account data: email address and password, or — if you sign in with Google — your Google account email and basic profile identifier.
- Profile data: display name, gender, the gender you are seeking, age, age preferences, country and (optionally) city, interests, and any profile photo or avatar you upload.
- Content: messages, chat content and photos you choose to share inside chats, support requests, and reports you submit.
b) Information collected automatically
- Device & technical data: device model, operating system, app version, language, and IP address.
- Usage data: features used, matches, session activity and in-app events.
- Advertising identifier: your device's advertising ID (e.g. Google Advertising ID) used by our advertising partners to serve and measure ads.
- Push token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can send you notifications.
- Approximate location: derived from the country/city you select and, broadly, from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
3. How we use your information
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Match you with other users and enable anonymous chat.
- Provide the "reveal", friends, referral and support features.
- Send notifications you have enabled.
- Display advertising and grant ad-supported daily access.
- Keep the community safe: moderation, detecting abuse, enforcing our Terms, and handling reports and bans.
- Analyze and improve the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service), your consent (e.g. personalized ads and notifications, which you can withdraw), legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, improving the Service), and legal obligation.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only as follows:
| Recipient | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Messaging) | Sign-in, push notifications |
| Google AdMob | Serving and measuring ads |
| AppLovin | Serving and measuring ads (ad mediation) |
| Hosting & infrastructure providers | Running our servers and database |
| Other users | Profile/chat content you choose to share within the Service |
| Authorities | When legally required, or to protect rights and safety |
These partners process data under their own privacy policies, including Google and AppLovin.
6. Advertising
Ondate is free and supported by ads. With your consent, our partners may use your advertising identifier to show personalized ads and measure their performance. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking), and manage consent where prompted in the app.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain information for legal, security or fraud-prevention purposes.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Users in the EEA/UK have rights under the GDPR; California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and delete and to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, email ondateme@gmail.com.
9. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings. You may also request deletion by emailing ondateme@gmail.com. Deletion removes your profile and personal data as described in Section 7.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures (such as encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
Ondate is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has used the Service, we will delete their account and data.
12. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be notified in the app.
